ELITE
DANCERS
The
Elite Company is for our competitive dancers. Dancers must complete
our audition process to be eligible for the Company. AUDITION
INFO.
Approximately
5 workshops and/or competitions will be attended (at Director's discretion)
as well as a National Finals. Dances to be competed will be chosen
by Artistic Directors. There will be options for Solos, Duos and Trios,
also at Director's discretion.
This
company requires a minimum of three nights a week. One night a week
for regular classes, 1 night for Company rehearsals and 1 night of
specialty company classes. This program is for the truly dedicated
dancer. Parental commitment is also required. Helping with fundraisers,
community shows and costume adjustments are a few examples of how
you can become involved.
The
Elite Company will be a rewarding and exciting learning experience.
Weekend
Workshops and competitions help dancers grow physically as well as
mentally. being a part of the Company, dancers will learn team dynamics,
commitment and unity. Integrity, pride and self worth will be some
of the many values your dancer will become familiar with. If you love
THE
PRE-COMPETITIVE
This
level of The dance Barre is for dancers who are looking for an outlet
to be challenged. Involving more commitment than recreational class,
it's a great transition into a more intense dance education. There
is a required minimum of two days a week.
One
night a week will be for recreational classes and the second night
will be for specialty classes with The Dance Barre Elite Competitive
Team.
No
Audition is required for this level!
Pre-competitive
dancers will have the option to attend workshops on the weekends with
the Competitive team. The Pre-Competitive dancers will learn how the
Elite Company works, so if they choose, they can audition the following
year.
This
program allows dancers to build their technique, strength and confidence
in themselves and in dance.
LA
Dance Magic Performer of the Year
Auditions
are held in each of LA Dance Magic’s 16 cities from New York
to Los Angeles. Those chosen are eligible to compete for the title,
"Magic Performer of the Year" at National Finals held in
California.
The Dance Barre would like to Congratulate Brooke Viselli on being awarded the prestigious title of “TEEN MAGIC PERFORMER OF THE YEAR”. Brooke will be traveling across the U.S. this year with LA Dance Magic assisting some of the dance industry’s top choreographers and teachers.

AUDITIONS
If
you are interested in becoming a member of our competitive company,
“The Dance Barre Elite”, an audition is required. For
more information on the Elite Company click the Elite button on
the main page.

FOR THE 2010-2011 ELITE COMPANY WILL BE HELD SATURDAY JUNE 12TH*
Audition
Schedule
11:00-12:15pm Mini/Jr. Audition (Ages 7-10)
12:30-1:45pm Teen Audition (Ages 11-14)
2:00-3:15pm Sr. Audition (Ages 15-19)
*Arrive
at least 15 min. early to sign in and warm up.
*The Audition will include a short combination in the following
styles of dance:
Ballet, Jazz
and Tap
*Dancers will also be given time to show any Acro abilities.
*Following the dance portion of the audition there will be a short
one on one question
and answer session.
Attire:
Please
dress in fitted dancewear.
Jazz/Tap; Jazz shorts/pants and fitted top with Jazz/Tap shoes
Ballet; Shorts and top or leotard and tights with Ballet shoes
Parents
Question and Answer Session:
At 12:15pm, 1:45pm and 3:15pm there will
be a fifteen minute question and answer session for parents with
the directors.
*Dancers must be 7 yrs. old as of January 1st to audition.
*The age division in which the dancers audition will not determine
their level of placement in the Company.
